Wash and re-sand
Best for: Block paving
The standard driveway job, and the one we do most. Clean, joints cleared, kiln-dried sand brushed back in.
Block paving does not fade so much as disappear under a film of algae, moss and traffic dirt. It happens slowly enough that people stop noticing until they see half of it cleaned. We pressure wash the whole drive, clear out the joints, and re-sand afterwards so the blocks stay locked together rather than working loose.
The drive is the largest single surface on the front of most houses, and a green one makes everything behind it look tired. Cleaning it is the cheapest thing you can do to the outside of a property that people actually comment on.

Pressure washing block paving takes the sand out of the joints along with the moss. If nobody puts it back, the blocks lose their interlock, start to rock under car tyres and eventually sink. A cheap driveway clean that skips the re-sanding costs you a relay later.
Block paving works because each block is wedged against its neighbours. Empty joints mean movement, and movement means ruts where the wheels go.
A joint with no sand in it is a seed bed. Re-sanding is also the thing that keeps the weeds from coming straight back.
It is dry enough to run down into the joint properly rather than bridging across the top and leaving a void underneath.
Block paving, concrete and old tarmac all behave differently under pressure. We tell you what will come up and what will not before we quote.
Edge to edge in overlapping passes, so there are no stripes left where one pass met the next. Weeds come out of the joints as we go.
Block paving gets kiln-dried sand brushed back into the joints, and the silt we have washed off gets cleared rather than left in your gutter.
Every property is different. We tell you which of these actually suits yours, and say so when the cheaper option is the sensible one.

One visit and one quote instead of several, because the equipment is already set up and the water is already running.
Priced by the square metre and fixed after we have seen it, either in person or from a photograph. Re-sanding is included on block paving rather than quoted as an extra.
