Single elevation
Best for: The side that has gone green
Usually the north-facing wall or the one against a boundary. Often all that needs doing.
Render goes green on whichever side gets least sun, and streaks black under sills and downpipes where water runs. Both are organic growth rather than dirt, so scrubbing does very little and pressure washing drives water into the wall. We soft wash, which kills the growth and lets the weather rinse it off over the following weeks.
A lance will take the green off and take the surface of the render with it, opening it up so it soaks in water and goes green again faster. Soft washing is slower to show its full result and does not damage the wall.

Soft washing does not scrub the growth off the wall. It kills it, and then rain and weather take the dead material away over the following weeks. The elevation looks better on the day and noticeably better a fortnight later.
The obvious green comes off and the streaking under the sills starts to lift. The change is clear but not finished.
The dead growth weathers off. This is where most of the remaining improvement happens, without anyone coming back.
Because the growth was killed rather than removed, a soft washed elevation stays clear far longer than a pressure washed one.
Painted, silicone and monocouche all behave differently. Silicone in particular should never be pressure washed.
The treatment goes on at low pressure and does the work over the following days rather than in the moment.
Soft washing keeps improving for two to three weeks after we leave. We say so at the time, so nobody is surprised.
Every property is different. We tell you which of these actually suits yours, and say so when the cheaper option is the sensible one.
Best for: The side that has gone green
Usually the north-facing wall or the one against a boundary. Often all that needs doing.
Best for: Even finish all round
Every elevation treated, so one wall does not end up noticeably brighter than the rest.
Best for: Full frontage refresh
The render soft washed and the fascias, soffits and frames cleaned in the same visit.
