Moss clear and soft wash
Best for: Tiled pitched roofs
The full job: moss off, treatment on, gutters cleared afterwards.
Moss on a roof is not only a look. It holds water against the tile, lifts at the edges in frost, and ends up in the gutter as the silt that blocks it. We clear it by pressure wash or soft wash, depending on the tile, because old clay and concrete tiles need a gentler hand than a modern roof.
A tile under a moss mat stays wet. Through a cold snap that water freezes, expands and works at the tile from the surface in. Clearing it is ordinary maintenance; letting it go for another decade is a re-roof.

High pressure takes moss off a roof very quickly, but on older tiles it can take the weathered surface with it. On concrete tiles that surface is what stops them soaking up water. So we look at the tile first, set the pressure to suit, and soft wash where the roof needs a gentler touch.
Tiles are designed to shed water running downwards. A lance aimed upwards can force it under the overlap and into the roof space, so we work with the laps, not against them.
Treating the roof kills what is left behind rather than just removing what is visible, so it stays clear for years rather than months.
Walking tiles cracks them. We work from a ladder and poles wherever the roof allows it.
We look at the tile type and the state of the ridge before quoting, because a clay roof and a modern concrete one are not the same job.
The bulk of the moss comes off mechanically. What is left is treated so the spores do not simply start again next spring.
Moss off a roof lands in the gutters and on the drive. Both get cleared before we leave, and that is part of the price.
Every property is different. We tell you which of these actually suits yours, and say so when the cheaper option is the sensible one.

Best for: Extensions and garage roofs
Felt and fibreglass roofs washed down, with any standing debris and silt cleared out of the outlets.
Best for: Most houses
The two are related jobs. Doing them together is cheaper and means the debris we take off the roof does not sit in the gutter.
Quoted per roof after we have seen it, based on the pitch, the tile and how much moss is up there. Clearing the gutters afterwards is included.
