Clear and flush
Best for: Most houses, once a year
The standard job. Everything out, water down the run, downpipes checked, photographs sent.
A blocked gutter does not announce itself. It sits there through the summer and then, on the first serious autumn downpour, sends water down the wall instead of down the pipe. We clear the gutters, flush them, check that the downpipes actually run, and show you photographs of the inside so you are not taking our word for it.
Water coming over the front of a gutter lands on the wall, soaks the render and finds its way inside. Clearing a gutter costs a fraction of fixing what happens when you leave it. On most North London houses once a year is enough, twice if there are trees.

From the pavement a gutter looks fine right up until the moment it fails. From the roofline you can usually see moss packed the whole length of the run, often with grass or buddleia growing out of it. That is what water has to get past.
It washes off the roof tiles, collects at the low end of the run and knits together until the whole gutter is effectively a planter.
Debris travels as far as the first bend and stops. Clearing the gutter alone does nothing if the pipe below it is still packed.
Most people book us in October, after the first heavy rain has run down a wall. Booking in September is the same job for less worry.
A gutter that is full of moss is a different job from one with a few leaves in it. We price on what is actually up there.
The debris comes out, then water goes down the run so we can see it reaching the downpipe rather than assuming it does.
Before and after shots from roof level. If a joint is leaking or a bracket has dropped, it is in there too.
Every property is different. We tell you which of these actually suits yours, and say so when the cheaper option is the sensible one.

Best for: When the boards have gone green
The same clear-out with the white plastic underneath washed down at the same time, which is usually what people actually notice.

Spring and autumn. If you have limes or sycamores overhanging the roof, one visit a year is not enough.
